Step 2: Sand down the case (removing any nasty yellowing, and the funny dimple patterns) and apply primer... several coats will be needed.
Note the difference between the sanded part (the horizontal strip where it says "AMIGA") and the rest. Icky, no?
Next up - remove the plastic mesh/grille at the rear of the top of the case...
I used a fret saw for this, and then sanded the rough bits off with coarse sandpaper.
A few more case-cutting mods - two holes (only one of which is cut so far...) for the switches, and one for the PSU connection...
Now all of the bits have arrived, it's time to try it all out! Note that the Subway USB is not yet connected...
A close up of the PSU adapter, showing the wires (taken from a floppy power lead!) that link PSU-ON and GND, and the -12V line to the motherboard...
Pimped!!!
Next steps:
Spray the case (after sanding down the primer so it's smooth, and giving it a couple more coats...)
Mount the mesh - once I've found some, and sprayed it the required colour...
Fit it all into the case!!!!
Insert the network card
Boot
Profit? :-)
